New Zealand Mail Group History

The New Zealand Postal services market was deregulated in 1998, making it one of the first in the world to see the development of domestic competition for the retailing and delivery of letters.

First established in 2001 as Stamps at Work and then rebranded as New Zealand Mail in 2003.

The New Zealand Mail Group has established a solid presence in many areas of the postal market through its operating companies and is the largest of New Zealand’s independent postal providers.

April 2012: SEND was introduced to provide a new range of service options for our New Zealand postal customers.

December 2012: Pete's Post was added to the Group. With over 15 years in the postal industry Pete’s Post has been fully integrated into the NZ Mail business and specialises in overprinted pre-paid envelopes.

October 2013: Fastway Post was acquired, it specialises mainly in postal and courier sales to the Stationery reseller market. With over 180 retailers, it is a trusted independent postal provider to many New Zealand businesses and resellers.

June 2015: New Zealand Mail Group and its sister companies; Form File, FileCorp and Universal Mail UK were listed at G3 Group on the New Zealand NXT.

April 2016: Rocket Mail was purchased by the group allowing New Zealand Mail to provide comprehensive mail house services to its customers.

February 2018: Simpsons Data was purchased by the group, further expanding our mailhouse capabilities.

In the year 2016- 2017 the New Zealand Mail Group operated mail volumes of 100 million items,
through over 2,500 active customers.
