A message from New Zealand Post dated 07/10/2013.

Last month we announced that New Zealand Post has revised its across-town delivery target for our standard mail services, effective from 7 October 2013.

We want to make sure you’re ready for this change, which happens today, and to clarify that this change includes parcels sent via the standard service too. This means that standard (untracked) items from both our new parcel sending range, and our old ParcelPost range, will have a delivery target of 1-2 working days across town and within island.

A message from New Zealand Post – Information on changes to New Zealand Post service delivery

At the end of June New Zealand Post announced some changes to our business. These changes, which were widely reported in the media, included a major restructure of the mail processing network to ensure we have the right configuration for the future. It is never easy to make these sorts of decisions but New Zealand Post must increase the efficiency of its operations to ensure we maintain the National service delivering six days a week for your business.

An outcome of this decision is that standard mail items will not be process to a cross-town “next-day” service standard. This mail will now still be delivered six days a week within the three working day service standard that currently applies to nationwide services. This change is effective from 7 October 2013.

The following services will still provide next working day deliveries targets:

  • FastPost – Speed and value for your business when sending letters and documents to a New Zealand Post PO Box, Private Bag, street or rural address within New Zealand.
  • BoxLink – A fast, secure and cost effective service for businesses sending letters and documents to New Zealand Post PO Box or Private Bag addresses within New Zealand.
  • CourierPost overnight delivery – For overnight delivery of your business letters and documents by courier to any residential or business street address, New Zealand Post PO Box or Private Bag within New Zealand.
